Talk about a performance to remember! Singer Loomis found herself at the center of an unexpected media storm after her rendition of the National Anthem during the Free and Equal Elections Presidential Debate didn’t exactly go according to plan. Picture this: she’s belting out the National Anthem, everything’s going as smooth as silk—until bam! The nerves hit like Monday morning traffic. When trying to hit the high note during the song, her voice cracked and she hit the brakes and asked for a restart after claiming she “****ed it up”, all while live to the nation. Yes, live! And in front of third-party presidential candidates.
Unfortunately, she didn’t get the restart because folks backstage reminded her that they were live, so like a champ, she continued and got through the rest of the anthem (barely).
Now Loomis is apologizing and defending herself for the mishap. She posted her apology in a video on Instagram and stated that there was confusion on whether the event was live or not before she had begun her performance. Sharing her fears, Loomis confessed she’s always found the National Anthem a tad intimidating. Despite all that drama, she reassured fans she’s ready to hit the stage again, teasing an appearance on Good Morning America, per TMZ.
