Cue Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.”
Hallmark has partnered with the NFL and Kansas City Chiefs to come out with a Christmas movie for the 2024 holiday season.
Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story will be a part of Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” event. And before you ask, no, the movie isn’t about the romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, although Hallmark is totally capitalizing on the media attention that’s been centered around the two.
The movie stars Hallmark actors, Tyler Hynes and Hunter King as the lead actors. The synopsis of the film reads:
Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Derrick (Hynes), Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them but when her grandfathers (Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick – unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.
Hallmark released a first look teaser trailer for the movie which will air on November 30th. A special cameo is made by Momma [Donna] Kelce (the Kelce brothers’ mom).
As an extension of the movie, Hallmark will have in-stadium festivities for the holidays and throughout the football season at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
